In person Smart Start in the Schools playgroups are not possible during COVID-19. Instead, we are offering take-home kits you can pick up curbside. Contact us to ask about upcoming dates.
What is Smart Start in the Schools?
Smart Start in the Schools is a partnership among Smart Start Central Oklahoma, the Metropolitan Library System, and two school districts: Oklahoma City Public Schools and Putnam City Schools. It is a family engagement initiative that promotes school readiness activities for parents and caregivers of young children.
Events are offered at participating local elementary schools. At Smart Start in the Schools, parents and children participate in a fun activity led by a trained facilitator and receive an age-appropriate book to take home. View the current schedule on the Calendar of Activities.
